[edit]This article contains a translation of Immunofixation from fr.wikipedia. |
This is a translation form the French wiki. I am not an expert so please fix any inadequacies that you may find. The use of the terms antibody/antigen in English seems to be different from French (antigenes/anticorps). Aoosten (talk) 00:04, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, that explains in part the problems I see with the article. But according to leo.org, the French and English terms are equivalent (antibody=anticorps, the Y-shaped molecules; and antigen=antigene, the structures where antibodies bind at). The section 'Principle' is not very accurate at least. Specifically, the sentence "For the identification antigens are used that are specific for the targeted antibody" contradicts the description in 'Technique', which is the right one in my opinion. To clarify, not antigenes are used to bind against their antibodies, but antibodies binding at the Fc-part of the patient's antibodies are used. I'm neither a native speaker nor am I working in this specific field, so I'm leaving the article as is. It should be corrected by some expert indeed. 92.72.37.13 (talk) 14:52, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
