Hi, guys. Thanks for making this page last a night. I was just wondering if I could have some support to help it follow WikiPedia's guidelines, like the category,info and reference boxes.Does anyone know how to make them look professional and how to paste an image from an external source?(because WikiPedia is kind of its own thing.) Hey! Thank you for the article, it's pretty good. The song definitely deserves its own place here (aka it's "notable"). Here are some notes, though:
I've added the infobox with some basic information. Feel free to change it and/or add the previous/next singles (I'm not really familiar with their discography). If you see the block of code between {{ and }} in the beginning, you can just add/change the information after the ='s. Also, if you want to add the infobox yourself in future, just go to Template:Infobox song#Code and copy the code from there into beginning of your article, before any text.
Unfortunately, Wikipedia doesn't trust anyone and requires you to provide sources for most of the information you put into it, unless it's really obvious. But then again, something might be obvious to me, but not so obvious to you, and you might want to verify if I'm telling you the truth, so I'd have to provide a reliable source for that. Something like a (news) article in a newspaper or a magazine, or a book, that discusses or mentions and confirms what I'm saying. Usually you do it using the code like <ref>your link goes here</ref> or <ref>{{cite web}}</ref> (better, though it has a bunch of parameters, click the link to read about it) for sources on the internet or <ref>Author (year) "Name of the book"</ref> or <ref>{{cite book}}</ref> (again, with a bunch of parameters, but it helps keeping the style the same across the articles). One important note: Wikipedia itself cannot be a reliable source, since anyone can change it any moment. If it's something important, usually there is a reliable source for it somewhere. Also, as far as I understand, Wikipedia requires sources for information about samples (even if it's really obvious and you can hear it easily). That said, I don't think it's possible to find them for all 700+ songs that sampled this song. Plus, if you put them all in the article, the list would be a bit too long, so eventually someone would just delete the whole list. Could probably leave only the most important/popular songs that have reliable sources confirming the sample.
Adding a category is simple: just add [[Category:Category name]] at the end of an article. Or, even easier, just follow instructions at Wikipedia:HotCat#How to enable to enable HotCat, which allows you to add a category by simply typing its name and pressing the button.
You're correct, you cannot put external images into an article. You have to either upload it to Wikimedia Commons (if it's a free image or you're the author of it, but there's a bunch of rules about it) or upload it locally, like in this case. Since it's an album/single cover, you can use this upload wizard: Wikipedia:Upload/Non-free album cover. Then you just copy the name of the file you uploaded (File:Cover.jpg) and put it after | cover = in the infobox code.
Oh, and there's no mandatory review for "normal" pages on Wikipedia (only for stuff like "good" and "featured" articles; though there's also Wikipedia:Peer review where you can ask people to review your article). WikiPedia takes clear notice of unsourced editing and this is distinguished in a duality - good faith edits and disruptive editing. From what I know, good faith edits are there to support the article when information could not be retrieved from a direct source. Some computers are not compatible with click-and-drag and if they are you won't get across to the other tab. Disruptive editing is adding minor information, much like what an autistic person would point out that is not relevant for encycloaedic encompassing.
Now in the case of this page, there are 9 hits in the drum pattern of which a piece of the kit is lifted as the 7th sound in total, over a drum instance. I am very upset to find that in my absence someone has wrongly attributed it as the sixth, which is in fact a drum instance instead. Now to whoever did this, you can help me research some of the songs in the sample family, you can help put in a picture but don't edit any of the bibliography unless you cite a reliable source yourself.Edomrak52 (talk) 03:45, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
