Name

[edit]

As with the Manipur article, why is the name of the city written in Hindi, when it's not an official language of Manipur? --SameerKhan 09:14, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it meant to me Churachandpur? Or is that just vandilism? I changed it back to Imphal. Please warn the user who has vandilised it if it is vandilism.--Akut 16:06, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:INDIA Banner/Manipur workgroup Addition

[edit]

{{WP India}} with Manipur workgroup parameters was added to this article talk page because the article falls under Category:Manipur or its subcategories. Should you feel this addition is inappropriate , please undo my changes and update/remove the relavent categories to the article -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 05:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Climate data

[edit]

The current climate graphs don't make sense. The annual averages are more extreme than the averages for any other month, and the monthly averages imply far too much within-day variation in temperature.

Pronunciation

[edit]

The pronunciation given is /ˈɪmpəl/, with first-syllable stress and a short final vowel; however, the Hindi name has a long final a, which means it should be /ɪmˈpal/, with final stress, and the .ogg pronunciation file clearly indicates this. Can anyone explain/defend the given pronunciation, or should it be changed? Languagehat (talk) 15:03, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As a rough guide the name is pronounced in English im-phaal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.150.10.137 (talk) 17:55, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Climate

[edit]

Climate data for Imphal seems wrong, Imphal do not receive more than 100 days of rainfall annually, please check the source and edit mindfully. 136 days is completely erroneous data. IMD 50 year mean averaged it at just about 97 days. Herdenie (talk) 12:30, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
