Pittsburgh (Port Authority Transit)

[edit]

Although I've not used the system in Pittsburgh, I do know that they operate two busways, confirmable on thier website.

Opening date of 1977 is touted as the "first"...contradicting the information on here about the El Monte busway.

Are these similar or different types of systems, and should Pittsburgh be included in here?

Sydney

[edit]

"Due to remarkably efficient state transport departments working with established private engineering and business firms, larger projects are generally planned and completed quickly with the full co-operation and support of the public. Rising fuel costs and congested roads have provided ample numbers of patrons who welcome ways to avoid peak hour traffic."

This has been deleted. If a reliable source can be provided, then put the statement back, but at present, there is a general public consensus that public transport efficiency is not a strong point of the current NSW government. Pacemanscoop (talk) 05:31, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Panama

[edit]

There was a Panama section in this wiki article with a single uncited sentence stating "Panama City will implement a BRT transport."

I currently live in Panama City and have been for the past 4 years, and can that there is no BRT system nor are they planning on implementing one. Which is why I have deleted the Panama section.

That said however, In the Panamenista Party Primaries for the 2009 presidential election, Alberto Vallarino made a campaign promise to implement one if elected. He lost the primaries though.Cafeduran (talk) 08:23, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate Lists?

[edit]

I have noticed that there are two lists of BRT systems on Wikipedia. There is this one and List of bus rapid transit systems. The difference between the two pages has never been clear to me and some BRT systems are included on one page that are not included on the other. My understanding is that this is page provides a detailed description of each system, where is the other is a plain list. Some one with a better understanding of these two pages should maybe consider if both are really needed. --Argonius2 (talk) 20:51, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
