Merging Ai and Mako with Impmon[edit]

Umm, hi, I'm still kinda new here, but I really love Digimon and have been editing a few of the Digimon articles for a while now.

Anyway, I saw a message stating that there was discussion 'bout merging Ai and Mako's article with Impmon's, and while I realize that there's not a whole lotta information on Ai and Mako ('specially in comparison to some of the other Tamers), I still think that they warrant seperate articles. Every other Tamer, including Alice McCoy and Minami Uehara have their own articles seperate from their Digimons', and they have just 'bout as much information and are 'bout as well known (or unknown) as Ai and Mako. Every other Tamer has their own article, so it'd make sense for Ai and Mako's article to remain seperate as well. Plus, if their articles were merged, then someone trying to use the wiki search engine for their names will get limited or no results since they'd be under Impmon's article and title name. And, as it's been stated on his article, though Impmon's primarily known for Tamers, he has appeared in other Digimon franchises, and he may yet appear as someone's Partner in a future franchise, so I think it's best to keep Ai and Mako seperate in order to avoid as much confusion as possible as to which one belongs to which franchise and that Ai and Mako were Partners only to the Tamers Impmon.

So, I think their articles should remain seperate, but that's just my personal opinion. Tasermon's Partner 12:28, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, those articles will also be merged. It's basically to keep in line with WP:FICT. -- Ned Scott 21:23, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keep[edit]

Let those pages stay separate including Impmon's. I prefer them that way. It will mess up the List of Digimon order with these redirects. Rtkat3 (talk) 10:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not every appearance of a Digimon is notable (like most of the game appearances). These merge proposals are actually not as bad as they could be, as a lot of editors feel that no Digimon should have their own article. I'm not even sure anymore if it's worth it to make some of the proposed "lists of Digimon", since there's so much that is not verifiable or properly sourced, and so much of it is trivial information. Also, we now have sectional redirects, meaning Beelzemon could point directly to Impmon#Beelzemon. Redirects can also contain categories. -- Ned Scott 21:22, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have to weigh in on this one. Impmon's may be a minor Rookie elsewhere; but I feel his personality and depth of background raises him just a bit beyond "mere Digimon". Yeah; He's a punk, but he's lovable in his tough-guy attitude. And his character was better developed than most in the Tamer Series; The Writers even hinted throughout the whole series about how he ran from his Tamer, and lived in a boarderline state of Emotional Trama for a long time. He was even in the Intro-Clip at the start of every Episode. If not his own Article, he at the least shouldn't be lumped clip-and-paste among the hundreds of other Digimon like he was nothing. If I sound pushy, i'm sorry. But Impmon's too unique-of-character to not defend. After all, what other Digimon short of a Main Character's Partner comes close to him in terms of air-time? I can't think of one. Thank for your patience... --David200k 23:50, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since the humans and Digimon are separate in every other case (Renamon and Rika, Hikari and Gatomon, ect) I think that Ai and Mako should stay separate from their digimon as well. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.245.12.225 (talkcontribs).
But there's something to actually say about those humans. Ai and Mako are just... sort of there. They don't really exist as independent characters, and are only in the story as a part of Impmon's background. -- Ned Scott 06:54, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All of them?[edit]

I've been tryin' to keep up with this on the main project page, but I'm kinda confused, sorry. Are we suggesting that ALL DigiDestined articles be merged with their respective Digimon Partners' articles? Or is it just the "minor" ones? 'Cause I'd be less opposed to it if it was all the articles (I think it'd be more fair that way), but since some of the articles for Digidestined and their Digimon Partners are both quite long, it could lead to some very long articles (not that there's anything wrong with that), especially for digimon like Agumon, which several DigiDestined have had as a Partner (and would require subdivisions of the Agumon article for the different personalities of each Agumon, not that there's anything wrong with that either). And I still have concerns about the linking issue. If we mention Alice or Ai and Mako or Davis or someone in a related article, will we have to link to their Digimons' articles? Sorry, I'm just a liitle bit confused, I don't mean to offend in any way. But waht's the point of merging the articles? Are they just easier to manage that way? Tasermon's Partner 11:23, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The human articles will likely stay separate from the Digimon articles. Ai and Mako is an isolated suggestion. -- Ned Scott 11:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if it's not going to be all of them, then I would suggest either keeping their articles seperate for the sake of fairness (at least for now), or perhaps combining ALL of the minor characters into one article and call it "list of minor Digidestined characters from series XXX". They've done that for some of the other television shows on wiki. Sorry, I don't mean to offend, or anything *blushes*. Tasermon's Partner 11:35, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Main page[edit]

Why doesn't Digimon have it's own Main Page, like that one for Pokemon? Could someone explain that one to me? A series the size and depth of Digimon deserves one.--David200k 23:53, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You mean like Portal:Pokémon? I guess no one has had time or interest in doing it for Digimon yet. Feel free to give it a shot, and find out more at WP:PORTAL. -- Ned Scott 03:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
