Unfortunate typo

Coordinate correction?

[edit]

Uhh, according to Google Earth version 4.2, Inchcape Rock is at 56° 33' 3.7" N 2° 34' 27.8" W , which is a fair few km off the specified coordinates. 121.216.154.45 (talk) 09:51, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Google Earth 4.2 would seem to be wrong. The coords are confirmed by Nicholson (1995) Rock Lighthouses of Britain as 56° 26' N 2° 23' W. Most of the maps Geohack links too don't seem to show the rock but Bing aerial maps does. The coords you provide are just off Arbroath. Ben MacDui 10:31, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Umm... the engineer?

[edit]

How can there be an article about the Bell Rock without mentioning the man behind it?! Robert Stevenson was chiefly responsible for the project's completion. I hope others can agree on this notion. Let's at least add his name to the article for crying out loud! lol — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.7.181.22 (talk) 07:23, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lighthouse enthusiasts have tended to create articles about the lighthouse as distinct from the island/rock. See Bell Rock Lighthouse. Ben MacDui 12:50, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
