Speedy deletion
[edit]Contested deletion I have removed the speedy deletion notice, as I object against speedy removal. As far as I know, Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia, so it will not do to give preference to a men's team and degrade the women's team to a second rank. The Banner talk 15:24, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- This isn't about degradation, it's about how the team is referred to in the media. If it is proven that the team is referred to as the "India men's national rugby union team", that's fine, and you or @OCDD should be able to prove that. However, there was no discussion prior to the move and the page should be restored to its original location until such a time as that discussion has occurred. – PeeJay 15:44, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

- Hi. As I said in my edit summary, I have no dog in this hunt. However on WP:CSD, it clearly says, " If an editor other than the creator removes a speedy deletion tag in good faith, it should be taken as a sign that the deletion is controversial and another deletion process should be used." So, unless you are asserting that The Banner and OCDD are the same person, you'll need to take it to AfD if you disagree with the creation of the dab. Not commentating on the move of the original page, other than to say that it is very common to not have a sex-bias for national teams.Onel5969 TT me 09:17, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- I've listed the move at WP:RMTR. This should be an uncontroversial move. If there is evidence to support moving the article to India men's national rugby union team, then please present it. - You can't oppose that move. The original move was performed without discussion and should be reverted. - Just noting that I did process this to move it back to India national rugby union team, per WP:RMUM - if anybody wish to move it still, we should have a move discussion to ensure a move war does not disrupt the project.
