Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it's a fifty year old organization with more than five thousand members. --fgnievinski (talk) 15:36, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fgnievinski, how old an organisation is, or how many members it has, does not define Notability of an NGO. The reference provided is a primary reference. ChunnuBhai (talk) ChunnuBhai (talk) 14:13, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy deletion under WP:A7 is not about notability or sources, but about an indication of importance or significance, which this has. If you think that the subject is not notable then please, after following the instructions that include WP:BEFORE, start a deletion discussion at WP:AFD. ChunnuBhai please keep in mind WP:NPOSSIBLE (WP:BURDEN only becomes in effect once a proper AfD nomination has started). fgnievinski (talk) 04:32, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Society of Remote Sensing moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Indian Society of Remote Sensing, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Due process[edit]

Dear Mccapra, WP:DRAFTIFY warns explicitly that "It is not intended as a backdoor route to deletion." Furthermore, it also recommends as best practice that "If an editor raises an objection, move the page back to mainspace and if it is not notable, list at AfD." So, with all due respect, could you please restore the article into mainspace and start a proper AfD nomination. Thanks. fgnievinski (talk) 04:25, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I’m not using draftifying as a back door to deletion. I’m using it as the front door to getting the article creator to provide proper sources for it. That’s what New Page Patrol is for. There is no reason to put the article up for deletion if the topic potentially meets notability requirements. Mccapra (talk) 04:38, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But the instruction at WP:DRAFTIFY is crystal-clear. Move the article back to main space. Phil Bridger (talk) 06:56, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Mccapra, could you please comply with WP:DRAFTIFY, moving the page back to mainspace then listing it at AfD. Thanks. fgnievinski (talk) 13:29, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I’ll move it back but I’m not taking it to AfD. If anyone else thinks the topic is definitely not notable (not a view I share) they can nominate it themselves. Mccapra (talk) 14:41, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
