Orbital debris[edit]

The applications section seems to say it leaves the first stage continuing in the transfer orbit, and the second stage in an orbit just below the payload orbit. How long do the first stages of IUS stay in orbit after a Shuttle deployment ? - Rod57 (talk) 14:56, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

and are all the IUS 2nd stages still being tracked as orbital debris ? Did the IUS 1st stage also have attitude control jets ? - Rod57 (talk) 16:05, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Shuttle payload bay equipment - done[edit]

What was the tilt-table thing called in the Shuttle payload bay that rotated the IUS+payload 50 degrees before firing ? - Rod57 (talk) 14:33, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Problems for proposed shuttle launches[edit]

Canceled_Space_Shuttle_missions says STS-10, STS-12, STS-41-E were cancelled due to concerns/problems/failure with the IUS. Can we say something about those problems here ? - Rod57 (talk) 14:38, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
