40 % of India's GDP

[edit]

Are you kidding me ? I am invariant under co-ordinate transformations (talk) 03:43, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it is India’s rapidly expanding services sector (which currently accounts for about 40 percent of India’s GDP, 25 percent of employment, and 30 percent of export earnings) that has provided recent growth and stability. — Sharma, Shalendra D. (2006). "Globalization" in Encyclopedia of India (vol. 2), edited by Stanley Wolpert. 146-149. Thomson Gale: ISBN 0-684-31351-0

Indian IT Industry

[edit]

Where is the story of the Indian IT Industry here? I searched for the term "Indian IT Industry" and was redirected to this page!

The private sector contribution to the Indian IT story needs to be told. There was a time when the Indian government was anti-computerization - even as late as the 1980s. The story of the major IT players - TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL - is how they worked around the License Raj and grew to be the key drivers of the Indian economy now - has to be told. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Untitled document (talkcontribs) 13:08, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is not the license but incompetent government employee. ST 16:21, 22 March 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sivakrishnatakkellapati (talkcontribs)

Rankings make no sense

[edit]

Where is the citation for the city rankings? The table looks like somebody just made it up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.217.73.245 (talk) 00:10, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with above objection, This ranking is non sense, Jaipur is no where as compared to Pune / Mumbai, i doubt whether it is to be included in list itself.

Please some one get statisitcs of actual exports value and then put rank —Preceding unsigned comment added by Niketanm (talkcontribs) 05:41, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Growth of IT industries in Indian

[edit]

The major cities that account for about nearly 90% of the sector's exports are Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Noida, Mumbai and Pune. Bangalore is considered to be the Silicon Valley of India because it is the leading IT exporter — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.160.116.82 (talk) 09:49, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
