- Additional national bodies Add France, Australia, etc.

- Pictures Add pictures of an inline hockey game and equipment

- Questionable link Global Inline Hockey? Should this link to commercial sites?

In the beginning of the article in addition to describing the the surface and type of puck used, add some pictures to show the reader more vividly what these actually look like. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kboldt3434 (talkcontribs) 14:38, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I suggest removing link to roller hockey (inline). This points to a redundant article that largely replicates the material in this article.

Inline hockey is the name of the sport - hence, USA Hockey Inline. Roller Hockey is the game played with quads and has its own article.

[edit]

i thought roller hockey had a league played on inline skate in the 90's?

Others would disagree that Inline Hockey is the name of the sport

[edit]

Other folks believe that the sport is not called Inline Hockey. So, while I am not an expert in this sport, here are examples of folks who play the same sport you do and would disagree with the sole name, Inline Hockey at this time:

NARCH North American Roller Hockey Championships.
Roller Hockey -respect the game, respect the player
TORHS Tournament of Roller Hockey Series
Penn State Roller Hockey Club
Sports Unlimited Fan Equipment
Bizrate Roller & Ice Hockey Equipment
Tri Valley Roller Hockey League

National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association
CCM -Roller hockey skates
RBK -Roller hockey skates
Mission Roller Hockey Equipment
Hockey Giant The Top Retailer for Ice Hockey and Roller Hockey Equipment

Inline Warehouse -Roller Hockey skates
A great inline/roller hockey explanation

I absolutely understand that the sport is beginning to take on the emerging identity: Inline Hockey, and perhaps you could offer deeper understanding to the public, explaining the sport and its evolving names and rules, but we can't in the meantime ignore it's other well known identity Roller Hockey, played on Inline skates, worldwide- before wiki can declare one name as the name. -Hardballhock —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.193.49.49 (talk) 05:51, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have played Inline Hockey in the UK for over seven years, and while I and everyone I know who plays the sport calls it "rollerhockey", the official name for the sport which I play (on four inline wheels, rather than four wheels in a square) is "inline hockey". I played in a tournament a few years back and I'm pretty sure the governing body was for "inline hockey". Hope this helps. (PS. this is my first edit. Am I writing in the right place?) --RaphaelBriand (talk) 21:55, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inline Hockey seem for me teh right word too.--ChristosV (talk) 22:30, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Compare

[edit]

I'd like to see a comparative of this and the quad game , any chance of this (Gnevin 00:56, 12 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I don't know much about quad hockey but I don't see any reason for a comparison. Certainly before any comparison can be made the quad hockey page needs to be improved. It gives almost no details about the rules of the game. RaydenUni (talk) 18:28, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is a growing section regarding Similarities and Differences Between Roller hockey (Quad) and Roller hockey (Inline) on the Roller hockey page. Also Quad's page includes *International rules of the game -Roller hockey(Quad) in English that are currently being updated by the governing bodies International_Roller_Sports_Federation, Comité Européen de Rink-Hockey, andComite Internationale de Rink-Hockey (Quad) unfortunately the rules had been buried in the see also links -hope this helps --Hardballhock (talk) 07:29, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite necessary

[edit]

Apologies, but I don't have the time to fix this and/or the motivation. But this article has gone from bad to worse and it needs to be corrected. And yes, I know I'm not being very helpful, just thought I'd point out that the article is need of repair!

Some of the previous versions of this page were vastly superior, albeit still not very good. In particular, it seems to have a strong USA bias which is inappropriate for an international encyclopedia.Womblina 01:49, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah as a long time inline hockey player, I am ashamed that our sport is represented by a mediocre wikipedia page. RaydenUni (talk) 18:29, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Womblina, this needs a rewrite to remove the silly USA bias. Much of the edits were obviously done by an American, but it should be written from an external perspective, not from a secluded localized view of the sport. Perhaps an overview of how it typically played worldwide is in order, followed by a section outlining the differences in how it is played in various parts of the world. Plus a separate section could be used for the professional versions of the game which seem to be predominantly held in the USA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.224.31.170 (talk) 09:31, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help

[edit]

Hi, I play inline hockey. What can I do to help? I'd be willing to help in any way, even to rewrite it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RaphaelBriand (talkcontribs) 23:47, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Roller in-line hockeyInline hockey – Last discussed in 2018. Reliable sources refer to this sport as either "roller hockey" or "inline hockey", but almost never "roller in-line hockey". Proposed title is good WP:NATURAL disambiguation. The lack of hyphen (which was a sticking point at the previous RM) is consistent with Category:Inline hockey, Inline skating, and Inline skates. 162 etc. (talk) 17:42, 27 July 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Safari ScribeEdits!
