Pheromone trap for codle moth

[edit]

Hi page editors,

I do not know much about the subject, but I just uploaded two photos of Commons, which may be of relevance to this article.

Thank for the uploads. I think this article is sufficiently illustrated for its size, but I added your photos to the Codling moth article, which has a large section on the control of that species that wasn't illustrated.--Brambleshire (talk) 16:59, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I agree. I am happy the photos are found useful in the codling moth article. Best wishes from Denmark, --Slaunger (talk) 22:12, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion

[edit]
Homemade trap for fruit flies

I recently expanded the coverage of trap types, although there is still work to be done with lure/attractant types. I also removed the section "Insect traps in practice" entirely since it dealt mainly methods to repel pests (e.g. eggshells to keep away snails), not trap them. The image included in the removed text was a trap, and I've moved it here for now. --Animalparty-- (talk) 05:27, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi --Animalparty--I think this photo SHOULD be on the page!--Wuerzele (talk) 04:53, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Just so the person who uploaded the trap doesn't feel bad, it is being used here and here to explain the second law of thermodynamics--guyvan52 (talk) 09:19, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

sticky trap

[edit]

Hi, why is no sticky trap mentioned?? plse ping me if you reply.--Wuerzele (talk) 04:52, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Wuerzele: Sticky traps are mentioned, in a sentence under Flying insect traps. True, they can be used to trap non-flying insects and other terrestrial organisms, but I feel it's reasonably covered there, and it's probably best to avoid overly fine subdivisions of trap types, at least for now. Cheers, --Animalparty-- (talk) 04:59, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Animalparty: thanks for replying. I agree - except I think there should be a picture. --Wuerzele (talk) 05:17, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Berlese trap

[edit]

The Berlese trap should be mentioned in the article. Ypna (talk) 10:43, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
