F2s. Is the IIA's definitions still valid? It was included in the glossary of old standards that have been replaced 2002. The other question: is ANYTHING that increases likelihood that established objectives and goals will be achieved control: training, getting more resources, sleeping well...

Anyway, internal control is not an ACTIVITY like internal audit. In stead, internal control can be ragarded as a system, a process, arrangements, control, etc.

Why does internal control systems fail?

Internal Control systems fail because 1. it was not designed and implemented well at the beginnning 2. change in environment in which it operates making them outdated or ineffective to address risks. 3. change in operations that renders it ineffective to address or mitigate risks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.150.216.189 (talk) 11:13, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
