Fair use rationale for Image:Icu.gif

[edit]

Image:Icu.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The Unique Readings for kanji 基督

[edit]

I have never seen the readings kirisuto for this Japanese term. I have only seen this term written in katakana and only in katakana. I would like to see proof of how this can work given the readings of the kanji are more like ki toku kyo (kyou or kanji for religion or teaching added to the end) makes it more akin to tokkyou than kirisuto. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.245.57.98 (talk) 06:19, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's in the dictionary- http://jisho.org/words?jap=+%E5%9F%BA%E7%9D%A3&eng=&dict=edict —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.198.206.130 (talk) 16:18, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, but the definition also explains this is ateji and that キリスト is usually written with kana, hence the confusion, I think. It's legitimate, but highly unusual. 164.71.1.221 (talk) 03:35, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doctoral program

[edit]

I noticed on https://www.icu.ac.jp/en/gs/docs/dissertation%20title.pdf that ICU has approved 20 PhD theses since 2014, but there is no mention of the doctoral program in the description of the graduate program. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of ICU could fill in some information (like when the PhD program started) and fix the graduate section? https://www.icu.ac.jp/en/academics/gs/phd/ might have some of the needed information.
