Many Romani populations do not, in fact, use the term "Roma" about themselves. Although this term is commonly used to refer to all Romani people, or "Gypsies," the term "Roma" excludes large Romani populations (such as the Sinti, Manuch, Gitanos, and many others). I am speaking of personal experience. I identify as "Romani" (Gypsy), but certainly not as part of the Roma communities. The 8th of April celebrates all Romani people, and the original event included representatives from many Romani communities throughout the world - including Roma from eatern-Europe, as well as those who do not identify as "Roma." When referring to the 8th of April, many of us do not use the term "Day of the Roma," but "Romani Day." A quick search on Google will affirm this fact. One example: http://www.reocities.com/~patrin/romane-mirikle.htm . In consideration of these facts, I took the liberty of changing the title of the article to "International Romani Day." For the obvious reasons mentioned above, I suggest that this article is redirected to International Romani Day.George Peterson (talk) 01:51, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, but creating a new page was not the way to go about it. Wikipedia:Moving a page - TheMightyQuill (talk) 05:01, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am sure you can merge the pages easily, then. Thanks! George Peterson (talk) 13:03, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am sure you could do it too. thanks. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 15:10, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was sure I could do it as well. But I'm new to this (Wikipedia, that is) - so I messed up. Perhaps you could help me? I'm not sure how to do it. I read the article you referred to, but I didn't figure it out. So I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you. George Peterson (talk) 16:25, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Gladly. There's a "move" tab at the top of every article page. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 21:15, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
