Recent Reorganization of Article

[edit]

I promise I mean no offence, hurt feelings, etc. with the latest changes. There were many issues lingering in this article that I have addressed to the best of my abilities with my limited time. The following is a summary of my fixes.

  • I fixed a lot of "press release" style language in the article, replaced it with encyclopedic style language.
  • I removed a lot of "bloat" in sentences that seemed to be related to above.
  • Fixed and purged lots of wording and sentences that seemed to be directly "copy-pasted" from their official website (which is already noted/cited in the article). Lots of this was phrasing directed as instructions to students.
  • I removed the "Point System" section. A big sorry to whoever did the work on those complicated tables!!! :( but it really doesn't belong here in the encyclopedia article for two reasons:
  1. The points are subject to change, it's subjecting the article to un-necessary risk of being bad quality when the canonical point system list is definitely going to be on the official website.
  2. The point system is NOT at all of interest to the general public. It's really only of interest to the students, members, teachers, parents, etc. of those involved with this Society. Far better for this to be referenced on the official website, etc... anywhere else but not in an encyclopedia article such as this.

I'm still disappointed with the state of the "history" section. Perhaps someone can improve this or figure out if it needs to be removed because the dates and name changes are pretty obscure and of pretty interest. I'm leaving it be for now.

These changes have needed to be made for a while. That's about it for now. Let me know any feedback. Whew....
