Mileposts or no?

[edit]

An IP editor has repeatedly added the {{mileposts}} template. However, I point out the following text from WP:ELG: "Mile or km: The measured location of the exit. If no source is available, and the road uses a distance-based exit numbering system, then this column can be left out in favor of the exit number column."

Given that distance-based exit numbering is used, do we need the mile column? And if so, who has a source for the locations? —C.Fred (talk) 01:13, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for inclusion and possible correction.

[edit]

It would be nice to have a history section such as that of Interstate 285. The history of when construction began, problems they had (home losses and so forth) and completion dates would be ideal for the article. My Mother's family lived in a house that was removed for the construction of I-20, I believe. They were forced to move to another part of town entirely. In any case, this information is necessary for encyclopedic entries. At least, I believe so. I don't presently have a way to research this, else I'd write it myself. Oh and one other thing, rest areas are not really "service" areas. In NY I believe they have "service" areas which is not the same thing at all. Georgia's rest areas do not provide food, gas, etc. I believe that should be reworded. MagnoliaSouth (talk) 16:50, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Georgia's only three rest areas do have vending machines and bathrooms, something that many in New York don't even have. ----DanTD (talk) 17:19, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Exit 38

[edit]

Per Google's Street View, exit 38 southbound is signed for SR 25 Spur, to US 17. Northbound signage shows SR 25 Spur, US 17, without the trailblazer notation.

Since the road does not carry US 17, but the signs indicate it, should we add it to the table? I'm picturing this:

{{jct|state=GA|SR-Spur|25|US|17|to2=To|dab1=Brunswick|name1=Golden Isles Parkway|city1=Brunswick}}

SR 25 Spur (Golden Isles Parkway) to US 17 – Brunswick

Thoughts? If there are no objections, I'll take that as silent approval. —C.Fred (talk) 17:49, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not just the Google Street View that shows it, since I snapped a picture of the sign on a 2012 road trip. Zoom in on the picture, and you'll see:
However, since it doesn't actually carry US 17, I think we should not only use that template, but add the note that US 17 is east of the interchange.---------User:DanTD (talk) 18:16, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's the same sign that's in the Street View. I don't think the notation about where US 17 is in relation to I-95 is relevant; I do think it's worth noting that the gantry signs recommend taking this exit to get to 17 by adding it to the list of roads served by the junction. —C.Fred (talk) 18:29, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The notation could simply re-emphasize the fact that US 17 itself doesn't have the interchange with I-95, so that's about as relevant as you can get, just like Virginia Secondary Route 610 to US 1 at Exit 143 along I-95 in Garrisonville, Virginia. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 22:10, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
 Done, even without the note. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 18:30, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What Happen To Future Section?

[edit]

Should I-95 Get Future Page For The I-16 Interchange and more? 69.1.39.81 (talk) 17:06, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The construction is happening now, so I'm not so sure. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:02, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
