Difference of idea and actually designing a functioning invention[edit]

Please tell my why this article starts with a man that had an idea and did nothing with. Once again this is some revision of history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.16.113.220 (talk) 12:42, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Surface passivation and other problems[edit]

This section contains original research, neither of the sources say that Atallah invented surface passivization. The claim that he proposed MOS IC is also unsourced. I also removed the claim that "Atalla first proposed the concept of the MOS integrated circuit in 1960, following by Kahng in 1961", as I failed to verified it. Same with the claim "surface oxidation process was the basis for the planar process" in Revision of the canonical version section, again failed verification. I am also not sure what to do with Sah claim about importance Atallah group work of stabilization of silicon surface, that it "blaized the trail". This is one sentence throwaway remark, and neither Saxena nor Lojek , in their detailed studies give it as much credit. DMKR2005 (talk) 22:59, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But note that Hoerni himself credits Atalla's work. --Ancheta Wis   (talk | contribs) 01:08, 10 January 2022 (UTC) See Lojek 2007 p.120 --Ancheta Wis   (talk | contribs) 06:37, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Invention?[edit]

It seems valuable to include a specific statement such as the date of presentation of the first functional integrated circuit, that meets all the criteria, to demarcate the point in time of invention. This would serve as a fixed reference for readers, especially valuable due to the ambiguity surrounding who or which organization ‘invented’ it. However, I am not knowledgeable enough to ascertain such a date, would anyone be able to share their thoughts or sources on this? Engineer of Souls (talk) 00:07, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Russian figures?[edit]

Why are some figures in Russian? 51.37.193.65 (talk) 19:43, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
