Redirect to Iola, Florida[edit]

The sole source cited for this article is the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS), which has been found to be unreliable for notability of populated places. The current GNIS entry for Iolee does not even say "populated place", but rather calls it "historical". I have been able to find one reliable source that mentions "Iolee", mentioning it as an alternate form of "Iola", a town associated with John Blount. I have also found other sources, blogs, petitions by groups seeking recognition from the Federal government as Indian Tribes, and early 19th century publications, which mention "Iolee" in connection with John Blount. None the sources (reliable or otherwise) that I have found provide any information about the location of Iolee, except that it was on the Apalachicloa River. As there is enough information in reliable sources about "Iola", which reliable sources say was located on the Apalachicola River, I have created an article for "Iola, Florida". All the evidence I have seen indicates that "Iolee" is the same place as "Iola". I am therefore redirecting this article to Iola, Florida. - Donald Albury 17:20, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
