my great gran[edit]

In the 1912 individual Irene Steer won her semi final and would have been the fastest qualifier in the final but she collided with a German swimmer during the race, as there were no lanes and as a result was disqualified. She trained and raced in Roath Park Lake. She married William Nicholson who was chairman of Cardiff City football club in 1926, the year before they won the FA cup.
