Untitled[edit]

This article looks like it could be turned into something decent. From a quick glance at their webpage, they have 24 patents and dealers in what appears to be pretty much every industrialized country in the world. If they are, as they claim to be, "the largest manufacturer of commercial free weight equipment in the world", they absolutely deserve to be here. Seems more like a case of a newbie not knowing proper Wikipedia protocol than somebody messing with the encyclopedia. Stilgar135 19:46, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New to Wikipedia[edit]

Hi! I am new to Wikipedia, and Iron Grip Barbell Company is my father's company. Although I was not the one who originally started the article, I have been fixing and cleaning up the article. I have been adding citations, more external links, adding links in related articles, etc. Because I am new, I have been making a number of smaller edits instead of larger ones, and due to this (in my best guess) a bot has reverted my edits. I have re-added the edits, but if the bot does change my edits again, I ask for help on how to stop the bots if it does happen again, most likely from the admin of the bot or from an experienced editer. Thank you!

Hi. Here's some reading that may help you: Welcome entry on your talk page, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Editing with a conflict of interest (relevant to editing an article about a company you are involved with), Wikipedia:Introduction. The bot may have reverted your edits because you added an email address to the article (but that's just a guess). Email addresses don't belong in articles. Also, adding links to this article like Dumbell and Barbell is not really appropriate as this article is not closely related to them. As an example, it would be appropriate for Dumbell and Barbell to link to each other in their "See also" sections, as they are related pieces of equipment. However an article about a company that produces this equipment is not an appropriate link, as it is about a company, and so is on a completely different topic (even if that company produces dumbells and barbells). There's also a strong conflict of interest issue there... I'm not sure what you can do (if anything) about this article being linkless.
