If that really is Blumi, i would like to say that i wrote the article with the information that was available in public based on wp:reliable. No tabloid or rumor based stuff. Also it was based on sources where you have written an edited chapter, so your fellow academic peers wrote a small biography of you at the beginning of the book. Most article content is from that and the source about your martial status is based on a blurb about you in a journal article. I don't know about your martial circumstances and i only went with what you have made publicly available information [1]. About your birthplace, it was hard to find a specific settlement and most sources place you as coming from the former Yugoslavia and associate you with the area of Kosovo [2]. I fixed that part as well. On marriage the best i could do is say that you were married during the 2000s, as there is no source for your current status. I hope it goes a long way to fixing those issues. Best.Resnjari (talk) 09:21, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Dear editor, please kindly respect the privacy of my ex-wife who certainly does not want to be associated with me as a former wife. Her accomplishments are far more worthy of praise and attention and she deserves the privacy she has always sought to maintain. I think it unpleasant to share with the world that my marriage has ended. Please respect both our privacy.
As this is an entirely unsolicited and somewhat unwelcome profile of me, I also kindly request that the editor not refer to my ethnic heritage. I do not see it relevant to my work (I work also on Yemen, the larger Islamic world, the Americas) and it needlessly prejudices readers. If anything I see myself of Ottoman Balkan heritage. As my religious practices and beliefs are not central to my research, so too must my heritage be unimportant. I do what I do out of what I think is right and accurate, not motivated by partisan associations.
I respect your privacy and all content in this article is based on what is publicly available. No malice was intended with the writing of this profile. Nothing has been used from tabloid or other sources, only academic. As i have not had a situation like this arise, I am going to have to consult with some administrators as to what to do about it and it may take a few days. I am also guessing that these comments in the talkpage you wont want to remain as well and may need to be removed. I should note that as a figure of a Balkan cultural background you have a high profile now in academia. Robert Elsie wrote a Historical Dictionary of Albania and Historical Dictionary of Kosovo and contain profiles on academics who have done in depth research on Albanian issues. One day due to your work you might have a profile and things of the sort may be highlighted -maybe not martial status but ones ethnicity could be mentioned. I'm just saying that outside of Wikipedia it may happen. I want to reiterate that i wrote this profile out of respect and especially admiration. It was your work that inspired me into academic research. I also wrote this because there are few Albanians with such talents and having a profile like this can be inspiring for Albanians to get into academia and see what is achievable.Resnjari (talk) 10:32, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
