Too generic title[edit]

There is currently an Islamist uprising in Syria, so the title of this article seems way too generic. Perhaps there should be added a year to it. FunkMonk (talk) 17:42, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the Syrian civil war is referred to as an "Islamist uprising" in WP:RS, so I don't think we need to a disamb. But I do agree that this title might be too generic. What about Muslim Brotherhood uprising in Syria, as the main belligerents in that case were the Muslim Brotherhood? Yazan (talk) 08:33, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That seems too specific, though. I think having a date range is the safest option. FunkMonk (talk) 08:53, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I took a look and most literature refers to it as "Islamist uprising". I don't see the point in adding a date range though. But I wouldn't object if you decided to go with that. Yazan (talk) 09:01, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The article seems to refer to multiple uprisings - should the article's title reflect this? As currently worded, it is hard to grammatically match the singular 'uprising' with the separate events described. JezGrove (talk) 22:03, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely, and this was changed not long ago. The title was changed to add "1976-1982" to specify which uprising it is. However, it is now changed back to this vague and ambiguous title. I am trying to change it, but cannot currently edit it myself. KAD2223 (talk) 14:47, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
