Granted I wasn't alive in 1960's, but from what I've read the Isuzu Bellett GT-R came before the skyline GT-R. Even the original article entry stated such. Without reference either way, its hard to say. Call me skeptical, but I find the validity of random ip address posters lower than registered ones. --Jgregg 19:12, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Belletts in Finland

In my opinion it is an interesting fact that the Finland was, alongside Australia, one of the largest importers of the Bellett with 6400 units imported in total. A special feature of these vehicles was that they were factory original left hand drive versions instead of the usual right hand drive versions available in Australia and Japan.

Also the Bellett was found to be an excellent rally car because of its advanced suspension setup (independent suspension on all wheels with sway bars both in front and rear), superb weight distribution for a front engine car (53% front/47% rear), fast steering as standart (2,9 rotations of the steering wheel lock to lock) and powerful & advanced engines for its day (120 hp standart from 1,6 liter doch GT motor). The Bellett could also be tilted to 53 degrees in sideways before it turns over, making it stable in cornering...

Unfortunately, the rear suspension had no limit to its travel, so in a sideways attitude it tended to fold right under the car, resulting in a rollover. I know this from experience. In speedway in Australia they were fitted with a limiting strap. ˜˜˜˜

Bellets in Australia

Bellets were imported to Australia starting 1963 or 1964. They were followed by the Isuzu Florian, and then the Holden Gemini. "Pij" (talk) 03:13, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
