Edits in 'Wrong death penalty conviction' section[edit]

I'm not attached to my edits, however, some of the language did sound a bit odd. For example, 'wrong death penalty conviction' reads as if a 'wrong person' may have been convicted. You might want consider changing to "Wrongful conviction" or similar. This sentence needs fixing for agreement: "These accusations, however, were not the cornerstone of the second sentence by passed the communists on him and his works..." Also, was this 'second sentence' a decision of a court of law, or was it a ban on his work by the government? "Sentence" implies a jail time, and this perhaps should be reworded.

If you'd like, please make the changes in the article. I'll avoid editing as this subject is not my area of expertide. However, some clarifications per the above can probably benefit this article. --K.e.coffman (talk) 19:18, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for you comments. You are probably right, my English is too bad to discuss such problems. I was afraid that you join an internal Polish discussion, I'm glad you don't.Xx236 (talk) 09:42, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NPOV and collaboration[edit]

The article is problematic, written in a one-sided manner. The issue of Mackiewicz's collaboration is complex and multifaceted, but to state outright that the allegations against him are "false" is an overstatement. Because, undoubtedly, the collaboration happened (work in the German "Goniec Codzienny"), the death sentence was also a fact and was not issued "by mistake." Marcelus (talk) 12:01, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Textbook case of TNT for reasons mentioned in the edit-summary. Wise to start afresh. TrangaBellam (talk) 11:47, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You removed too much, there is no reason to remove everything besides collaboration section. Marcelus (talk) 13:33, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I agree. If there was a controversial claim in the article, it can be tagged or removed. I find it hard to believe there is any reason to TNT 10k of content. What was wrong with stuff like imilar to other young veterans of the war who entered university without their Matura graduation, Mackiewicz started his favourite subject of biological sciences at the University of Warsaw and then upon moving to Vilnius continued studies at the Vilnius University, but he never graduated with a degree.? Uncontroversial, grammatically correct, and referenced too. We don't need a PhD-written, peer reviewed sources for this type of stuff. TrangaBellam, please self-revert. Then you are welcome to point out if any controversial claims are unreferenced or poorly referenced (and/or remove them). But his education history and like is not something we need to TNT. Almost everything was unsourced. But, as I noted in my edit summary, either of you can restore anything? TrangaBellam (talk) 16:51, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please restore content, and add citation needed where unsourced content exists. I'll try to work on this in the future, verifying content and adding references. Unless something is controversial, however, this is not an urgent matter. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 17:23, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with @Piotrus, the way the question of Mackiewicz collaboration is described is clearly one-sided, but not damaging that it needs to be removed completely. Actually I think only this particular section should be tagged as "non-npov". Marcelus (talk) 17:27, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • The first paragraph of the erstwhile version is unsourced. WP:BURDEN is a core policy which says,

All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution.

I am not sure how I can restore unsourced material, and violate a policy with the aid of local consensus.
  • The second paragraph is supposedly sourced from this website except that it is not. I cannot restore a violation of WP:INTEGRITY, a guideline.
  • I can go on and on.
  • In short, I am not reverting myself. If you have the sources, please do cite them and restore the content. Thanks,
