Living?

I can't find any resources as to Roberts' date of birth, place of birth, death date, etc. The websites I cited for information about his scholarly interests were written in the present tense like he is still alive, but I've noticed that is a Biblical commentary book "in honor of JJM Roberts" out there, and the sub-stub-class article that I expanded this from was in the past tense.
