[edit]I cannot figure out how to upload pictures. I think my account is too new? If anyone can grab the EF10 photo from the Japanese article and link it to the English article that would be great. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TherealJojo (talk • contribs) 03:42, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

Translation
[edit]@DAJF: A lot of info was removed which I translated from the Japanese wikipedia page for this article. The Chinese page also has the same text. Is there a need to be consistent between languages or are the different language wikipedias different enough? I am new to wikipedia so please let me know.TherealJojo (talk) 15:33, 3 March 2017 (UTC) TherealJojo (talk) 15:43, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
- @TherealJojo: Hi. Most of the text I removed appeared to be just general background about electric locomotives in Japan, and had no relevance at all to this article, which is about the Class EF10 locomotives. In answer to your question, there is no requirement that Wikipedia articles in different languages contain the same content or even be consistent, and the more important requirement is that all of the information is properly sourced so that it can be verified in accordance with the core Wikipedia guidelines at Wikipedia:Verifiability. If the Japanese article is more comprehensive, that is certainly a good place to start looking for information that can possibly be added to the English article, but it all needs to be backed up by reliable sources, which is something the Japanese articles unfortunately often lack. Anyway, thanks for putting in the time and effort to start this article. --DAJF (talk) 02:06, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
