Albert Francis McNeil

[edit]

Where a person's christian name is known, then in the instance they should be referred to as such. Referring to people only by their initials is an early 20th century thing. We don't refer to Theresa May as TM May, so don't see why this would differ. Sestsanz (talk) 04:42, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A Christian name? How antique.
  • 1. we are talking about the first half of the 20th century
  • 2. his mum and mates probably called him Frank (you might like to discuss this)
  • 3. everyone else called him McNeil or referred to him as A F McNeil, in person and in writing. This is very specific to him.
in any case how do you deal with young Jo Rowling? (possibly of a similar background — if 70-odd years younger)
