controversy

[edit]
  • Should this page be split up? It's starting to look a little cluttered. I'm thinking there should be an achievements section, and maybe a controversy section to discuss the divorce. I'd do this now, but I don't want to step on any toes. ~ 7-30-06 7:31
  • Adding on that, maybe there could be some mention of the flack she took for Chasing Papi from the conservative Christians. 67.10.149.205 09:16, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I got rid of the adultery bit because, as of now, it is merely rumor. 67.10.149.205 08:54, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

tedium

race

[edit]
  • Is it really wrong, Jack O'lantern, to have her listed as spanish-american seeing as how she's listed as mexican-american? If you want to be technical about it, being of such a diverse background, she should just be labeled american. 67.10.149.92 11:23, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bipolar?

[edit]

I didn't know that. WAVY 10 22:24, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Married Again?

[edit]

I've just been to two different sites that claim Jaci got married to Nick Gonzalez from the band Salvador. Is this true? 67.10.150.66 02:09, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found a site that has pic of her and this Nick guy. Supposedly it was on her Myspace street team page, and for some reason she's not announcing it just yet. Some are saying she got married nearly a month ago (!). http://messageboards.wordlabelgroup.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4541041/m/5131025677 OriginalGuest 11:33, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, it's confirmed, so I added it to the biography, which could use a bit of cleaning up. 67.10.150.66 05:45, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note. That link has to be changed once the news becomes archived. That's all. SKS2K6 06:33, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's changed already. No big deal. OriginalGuest 03:38, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed JaciVBeauty.jpg

[edit]

I removed JaciVBeauty.jpg. It fails fair use counterexample #7. I've tagged it for speedy deletion as an orphaned fair use image (WP:CSD#I5). It is no longer necessary: Beauty Has Grace already has an image. I suggest that interested parties look at http://www.flickr.com/. None of the images are free enough to upload to Wikipedia, but the owners may be willing to release their images under an acceptable image tag. --Iamunknown 02:00, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

her mother is Mexican, father's last name velasquez is a Mexican name

[edit]

she is a Mexican American. she may have some Spain, French ancestry but Mexican is the predominant one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grmike (talkcontribs) 16:24, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

However, she spells the name Jaci Velasquez when communicating in English. See http://www.jacivelasquez.com/, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1100853/ , Amazon.com and iTunes). Her Spanish-language albums are released under the name Jaci Velásquez, but this is the English Wikipedia. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:53, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vegetarian?

[edit]

Devin Rose. "Singer Jaci Velasquez: People Haven't Given Up." Chicago Tribune. December 7, 2003. Section: Q2. She is listed in various places as a 'vegetarian' practitioner. Surely not a vegan (consider this recipe).[1], but she is involved with this group, Lifestyle Magazine (which has been thought to be SDA in orientation, and which had often interviewed John McDougall in the 90s)[2], that advocates plant-based protein (and gives only PLANTS as protein sources).[3] MaynardClark (talk) 00:06, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not in the article. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:12, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not as it currently reads, but given the circumstantial evidence' on the 'Web, perhaps it should be. I have sent out my feelers to get more information; surely, we ought not to include such a claim without sufficient evidence worthy of the Wikipedia project. MaynardClark (talk) 00:26, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure how any of these "sources" support that Velasquez is a vegetarian. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:20, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
