Just wanted to add something about, Jack Reynolds. I met Jack when he was in the Army Reserves training at Fort Ord, CA. Jack was assigned to KP duty one day on the shift I was on. It was after breakfast and he came over to me and said that he was still hungry. I was a cook. I had a bowl of hotcake batter so I told him I would make him a hotcake. I used the rest of the batter and the hotcake was so big it hung over all four edges of the serving tray, which I think was about 16 inches long and 12 inches wide. (But don't quote me on that, it is just a guess on the size of the tray.) Anyway, Jack ate the whole hotcake! It was also nice to have Jack around if we ran out of an item we needed for cooking. We would send him to a nearby mess hall and he would always come back with what we needed.
But mostly, I remember Jack as more of a soft spoken guy then a rough and tumble football player.
