Not Notable[edit]

This article appears to be yet another instance of a new account creating a page about a military imposter who is not notable for anything other than being a military imposter. In other words, the use of wikipedia as a pillory in much the way ARRSE mocks and shames individuals. This is not the purpose of wikipedia. In terms of policy, this violates WP:NOTNEWSPAPER, WP:NOTEBIO, WP:CRIME, and WP:LASTING. Unless compelling sources and changes can be made to bring this article into compliance with these polices, it will be deleted.Legitimus (talk) 13:45, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

He is notable for more than being a military impostor. He is also a published author, a historical advisor for movies and television shows, and has appeared on television as a military historian. That he achieved all of this on the basis of a falsified career makes it more noteworthy, and this is quite unusual. Also, my account is not new Sdc3000 (talk) 22:02, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I would disagree that this article is mere pillory because Livesey is more notable than the average 'Walt.' He has written a number of books and they are still in publication; they're sold internationally by major distributors including Amazon and Barnes and Noble.2602:30A:2ED1:2EE0:C4ED:80DE:CCF5:9BDC (talk) 02:44, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Let the record show both these respondents (one being the creator of the article) are the same person and were indefinitely blocked from editing for engaging in sockpuppetry.Legitimus (talk) 14:22, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
