... that National Football League player Jacob Sykes took college courses in sixth grade and assisted in teaching college courses in seventh grade? Source: The Kansas City Star ("OK. About that college course Sykes took as a sixth grader. The story is actually even better, because he helped teach a college course as a seventh grader. Seriously ... Picture this. That same giant kid with the same babyface, having just completed seventh grade, helping teach a pre-calculus class at Langston University, all the while conversing with the professor in French so that the college kids would hear the lesson straight from the kid.")
@Lightburst: You tagged that he placed in the state math competition and won the history competition for failed verification, but the source says Sykes placed in a state math contest and won a state history contest. That verifies it. BeanieFan11 (talk) 02:26, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@BeanieFan11: Apologies for the confusion. I was verifying the hook citation so it was the proceeding sentence. I replaced the tag after Citation 3. The hook sentence in the article is: He took college courses while in sixth grade and in seventh grade assisted in teaching courses at Langston University and that reference makes no mention of those hook facts so it {{fails verification}}. Please address it before promotion. Lightburst (talk) 14:38, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Lightburst: That's the hook fact and that one's verified as well - see the source: OK. About that college course Sykes took as a sixth grader. The story is actually even better, because he helped teach a college course as a seventh grader. Seriously ... Picture this. That same giant kid with the same babyface, having just completed seventh grade, helping teach a pre-calculus class at Langston University, all the while conversing with the professor in French so that the college kids would hear the lesson straight from the kid.BeanieFan11 (talk) 14:49, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@BeanieFan11:. I see, when one clicks on citation 3 in the article it only gives an option to see B5. Here in the nomination B8 is linked. Maybe to help promotors and administrators who will move it to prep after they verify we can use the link in this nomination. Sorry for my confusion as I cannot click through on citation 3 in the article. Lightburst (talk) 15:02, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
