Hugh Boscowen

[edit]

Does editor mean Hugh Boscawen, 1st Viscount Falmouth, for whom they also created a page?

If so, in what sense was he

"At this time the representative of the Govenment in Cornwall"?

. He was neither Lord Lieutenant or High Sheriff. Vernon White . . . Talk 21:49, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reference I have says....

The Right Honourable Hugh Boscowen Esq., Comptroller of his Majesty's household, Lord Warden of the Stanneries in Cornwall and Devon, a post of considerable authority and Power in the County of Cornwall.

The reference comes from A faithful register of the late rebellion published by an unknown author in 1715 and is mentioned by Jenner in his article an incident in Cornwall 1715 Talskiddy 09:11, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
