==Most probably litography, not photograph==

It says: "19th century photograph of St Arnaud." This certainly doesn't look like a photograph to me. It most certainly is a litography from the middle of the 19th century. The portrait however bear some similarities with photographic portraits, and it is likely that the litography was made after a photograph.
