I think this articles describe negative viewpoint and narrow-minded about a living person. And there are many missed points. Something are not true.
More information about him, visit his personal homepage[1] and manmin church homepage[2]
And refer other site explains him.[3]

Diff of the latest attempt to whitewash the article:

  • "but was included again since the accusement could not be proved" --- source simply states "The KMA released a statement saying Lee is a cult leader and that he is not well accepted by Korean churches.(KMA was jerry-built org) First of all, he was excommunicated as a cult leader from his own denomination (Church of Holiness) in May 1990 and from the Korean Christian Association (Han K Chong) on the 30th of April 1999 because of his unbiblical teachings, the statement says." No proof at all about reinclusion [7]
  • "300 of his followers went to the television station peacefully to protest the false report, since Munhwa Broadcasting Company had been attacking Christian communities through its false reports." again no, the BBC states stm "Approximately 300 followers invaded the television station on Tuesday evening, cutting power supplies five minutes after the hour-long documentary had started."

Etc. If you want to improve the article, find independent sources (mainstream newspapers, etc.) which speak favourably of Jaerock Lee. Unfortunately you may find those are in short supply. cab (talk) 03:30, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have come across that Orthodoxy and Heresy, published in June 2004 by The Union of Korean Presbyterian Churches, Inc. after many years of research, concluded that Manmin Joong-ang Church is a sound congregation based on faithful doctrines of the gospel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.56.172.76 (talk) 07:47, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee is also the founder of World Christian Doctors Network WCDN.It is entrusted with medically affirming the cases of divine healing as clear manifestations of God. Testimonies of healing of diseases by medical professionals are more credible than those of ordinary people. Towards that end, WCDN is testifying to the living God and the truthfulness of the Bible through science to those who deny or doubt God's existence in the Last Days.—[1] Bellatou (talk) 19:39, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Bellatou[reply]

A religious heresy claim is difficult to judge. In most cases, the critic is automatically biased toward advocating his or her own belief rather than being able to evaluate and judge objectively. A best way is just to provide factual and historical information in the article without too much interpretation or evaluation. I believe the current article is fairly based on facts and reports without an undue interpretative process involved. It would be safe and fair to leave the article alone. 148.184.174.61 (talk) 18:41, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Style problems?

[edit]

I was wondering if anybody felt that this article was written in a subjective style? I get the overwhelming feeling that the article focuses on Lee's personal journey and not on an objective account of his life. Significant insights such as Lee's early life where "everybody abandoned him" are paraphrased from inspirational editorials by pastors. To me statements on Lee's emotional condition like these should be attributed to their originators or Lee's actuals opinions on his early life quoted. Anything else reads sermonizing and does not belong in this encyclopedia? --Frozenport (talk) 11:05, 25 March 2012 (UTC) I — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hyukjaes (talkcontribs) 04:22, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional writing and non-free content

[edit]

The tone of this article is not factual and neutral, but comes across as a promotional brochure aimed at people who belong to to Lee's particular denomination or doctrine of Christianity. Cases in point: "Lee knows that Christians lives are to be holy and should be empowered by the Holy Spirit", "Rev. Dr. Lee movingly testified to messages", "...the fiery and explosive work of the Holy Spirit...", "Blind eyes were opened to see and ears that could not hear came to hear" - those are a very few examples of utterly inappropriate and unencyclopedic phrases that abound in this text. Add to this the fact that this article seems to make the claim, in direct contravention of Wikipedia policies, that Lee can actually perform miracles of healing. In addition, criticism and counter arguments have been removed or whitewashed, sometimes to the point of saying the exact opposite of what the sources state.

The article needs a lot of work by people who are not affiliated with Lee's organisation. At the moment, there are many editors who work only on articles connected to Lee and his work, and it seems probable that there is a strong conflict of interest here.

Another important issue is to do with non-free content. Bits of the promotional blurbs of Lee's books, and text taken straight from press releases, have been pasted into the article. It's difficult to find all the individual instances, because they crop up everywhere, and that's a very big problem. --bonadea contributions talk 12:43, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dead sources

[edit]

In response to this edit:

  • First, just because an Internet link is dead it does not follow that the source becomes invalid. The source is not the link, it is the original publication that is the source for the information. Many sources on Wikipedia have never existed on the Internet. See WP:KDL for more information.
  • Second, we can't edit based on our own personal guesses. It is explicitly against Wikipedia policy. See WP:NOR.
  • Third, it is very unlikely that the news story should have been removed because the corporation suddenly, several years later, changed their minds about it. It is much more likely that older archives were removed from the website. Another likely theory is, unfortunately, that the link in the Wikipedia article has been intentionally sabotaged in the past - that has happened with other links to news sources critical of Lee [8]. However, this is my guess, which is just as irrelevant as yours. See the second point above.

When going through the history of the article I have discovered a lot of information and sources regarding criticism of Lee, his excommunication, him being prevented from entering various countries, etc - all that has been washed out of the article. I'll start restoring any sourced such information, because it is completely inappropriate to use Wikipedia to promote and glorify a person whilst removing sourced criticism against him. --bonadea contributions talk 08:35, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
