Krty vs. Krty-Hradec[edit]

Thank you @FromCzech for reviewing and improving this article!

While the cited source[1] does mention the birthplace of both brothers Jakub and Václav Melissaeus Krtský as "Krty u Strakonic" (clearly Krty-Hradec in today's Strakonice District), it is worth pointing out that Václav lived in Žatec, Louny, and Český Dub; while his son Václav was born in Louny, married Kateřina from Most and worked, among other places, in Krušovice (or Hrušovany or Hrušov, depending on the respective source's translation of Vencislaus Melissaeus Pastor Hrussoviensis[2]), and went into exile in Pirna, across the border.

The geographical proximity of all these locations in North and Central Bohemia may suggest that the cited source misinterpreted the location of birth, and Krty in today's Rakovník District might be an alternative candidate.

On the other hand, while in exile in Pirna, Václav's (jr.) wife was godmother to the son of a certain Václav Nisselius of Strakonice.[3][4]

Since this issue is not unambiguous, the original draft linked to both localities of the same name as viable options.

This point applies to article revisions fo both Jakub and Václav Melissaeus Krtský.

Naturally, I leave it to more senior Wikipedia experts to decide on this issues, but would like to have it mentioned here in the interest of a balanced point of view (WP:NPOV).

The cited source says it clearly. The rest is just speculation and own research. FromCzech (talk) 11:39, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
