False statement in JA Bradley bio

[edit]

The statement that white tourism in Asbury Park in the 1970's was because of "reintegration" of it's beachfront is false. There was no such "reintegration" in the 1970's as there were no segregation laws or policies that changed in the 1970's. There was only the typical racial discrimination that was practiced all throughout the Jersey Shore at that time. What was unique to Asbury Park in the 1970's was a full scale riot (and its aftermath) by the substantial Black population that lived on the West Side of Asbury Park. This was the direct cause of Asbury Park losing much of its Tri-State white tourism trade. I was there. I lived it. The story of some kind of "reintegration" in the 1970's is not credible. 172.243.229.127 (talk) 17:03, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
