Adding template, as suggested after my submission, to improve the odds of a quicker review. Mollifiednow (talk) 21:04, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Learning by Doing[edit]

I joined Wikipedia and quickly learned that I can't necessarily do editing, or even clean-up until I go through the entire process of writing an article from beginning to end. That's my learning style, go through the entire process, how can you see the bigger picture until you've put together all of the smaller parts? I spent hours doing research as I tried to improve an article here, only to face accusations that were meritless. I nearly threw in the towel, but instead I am more determined to prove my value as a contributor. It's part of why I decided to attempt to write an entire article, BEFORE trying to edit/improve someone's work. I'm well educated, honest, and always interested in learning something new. The most difficult part of contributing, for me, is learning how to use/create templates. Is there a Dummies guide somewhere? :) I'm good at research and hopefully that will make up for my mistakes as I learn. I Finally, if I'm doing something wrong, please feel free to comment/critique. I only ask for you to remember, I'm new. There's no need to be rude or insulting. Thanks Mollifiednow (talk) 23:25, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note: This article, if accepted, would link to the Walter Paine article, a publisher of The Keene Sentinel.
    • Note to self: I believe that an additional page should be created for his brother, George M. Ewing, and an edit made in the existing article about their father,Oscar R. Ewing, to add the names of his 2 sons under the subsection titled Private and Death. I find it interesting that both sons became newspaper owners. Is this a bad idea? I know this isn't Ancestry, is he as notable as his brother? (Is this becoming the rabbit hole that I disappear into?)😏 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mollifiednow (talkcontribs) 23:27, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Need Advice on Article[edit]

I apologize in advance for taking your time but I need you to

😬

While doing some edits on the Walter Paine article, I found a Red Link for James D Ewing and created this sandbox to work on an article about him. I'm sure it meets the notability guidelines and I've done a lot of good work on it, however, I'm concerned because I just realized that I may have not followed the correct Wikipedia procedures. I Didn't use the article wizard or ask for permission to work on the article. I'm very sorry for taking up your time, I should have done more research before beginning to write and asked for help before beginning the article. Would you please take a look at it and advise me of anything I need to do before I continue with my work? Thank you- Mollifiednow (talk) 14:51, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Creating Stubs for future articles[edit]

Apologies, I failed to include notations as I created stubs for future articles that I believed to be worth including.

Noteworthy Individuals: George Krimsky Helen Ewing

Not positive if these former newspapers are considered notable: the Bangor Daily Commercial the Argus-Champion Mollifiednow (talk) 15:54, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Correction: suggestions for future articles, not stubs😬 Mollifiednow (talk) 19:46, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to those who helped me![edit]

I'm so grateful to those of you who have helped me to be successful in my first draft article! I appreciate you helping to correct the setup for my draft page! Virtual hugs😁 Mollifiednow (talk) 00:15, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mollifiednow, Although I have left notes on your talkpage, I found various cmts that were made, there and here. Quite a few of us are happy and willing to assist others, esp. new editors! Thanks so much for not giving up...I have only looked at at the James D. Ewing article, where you have done splendid work. Thanks so very much for your contributions. I am not an expert, by any means, but I am willing to help if I can. Sincerely, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 01:55, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Photos of James Ewing[edit]

I would love to add a photograph of Ewing. However, I have been unable to find anything that isn't subject to copy right issues :( If there's anyone out there who can come up with something, I think it would be a wonderful complement to the article. Rename Draft: James Ewing to James D Ewing[edit]

I wrote this draft and see that since my submission, it has been moved and now has a warning stating the page already exists. Should I /is it possible; to rename the article James D Ewing? Should I add it to the disambiguation page? I'm new here and not sure of the correct procedure. Thanks for your help. Mollifiednow (talk) 17:52, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oooops...

Another question: since the page is now created, albeit in draft form, should it link to James Ewing as mentioned on the page :Walter Paine? I had created my draft in my sandbox after finding the RedLink on the Walter Paine page. If not what's to prevent someone from creating another article on Ewing(?) if the pages aren't linked. I would hate to see someone waste their time and effort on something that has already been done. Thanks again Mollifiednow (talk) 18:01, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer Note[edit]

This draft has a disambiguated title.

If this draft is accepted, an entry will need to be added to the disambiguation page for the primary name.

The disambiguation page for the primary name is James Ewing.

Will do! Thank you Mollifiednow (talk) 04:09, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Article Approved[edit]

Wow, I'm so excited that I received approval for this article. However, I'm a little disappointed (in myself) that it received a "C" rating. In hindsight, I understand better, why it takes time to write a good article. When I started writing it, I was pretty "green," I'm still a newbie, but I've learned so much more than I did when I began. I'm working to improve the article, adding content, citations and new information. Hopefully, others with more experience will contribute and the rating status will be upgraded very soon :-) Mollifiednow (talk) 14:52, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
