Extra information in lead section

[edit]

I have tagged this article as needing clean-up because the lead section has extra information about this artist's works that is not discussed in the body of the article. See MOS:LEAD for purpose of the lead. It provides an accessible overview of the whole article, not just selected works. Information in the lead should be in the body of the article too. See WP:LEADFOLLOWSBODY also. The wide range of materials used in this artist paintings, his participatory art practice for creating works, his images of American pop culture, and his collaboration with his wife are not expanded upon or explained in the article. Although one of his works is mentioned, its method or manner of creation is not discussed in the article, only in the lead. Also, the article does not explain why the lead should mention the creation of a single work of a controversial figure that is not actually discussed by the article, when two others about US presidents are discussed in the article but not mentioned in the lead at all. The significance of this artist and his works are not adequately explained by the lead, which reads a bit like like an art exhibition catalogue. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 20:13, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Terrorism banner removed

[edit]

I removed the WikiProject Terrorism as adding this banner seems to be over-bannering as the banner refers to only one work and other works about US Presidents and American pop culture, do not each have a corresponding banner. If the article was about a particular art work, an associated banner might be justified, but not necessary for the artist. See WP:OVERBANNER and WP:PROJSCOPE. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 20:29, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
