This is the most racist article I've ever read

[edit]

Irishman? "The black"? Who wrote this, a stormfronter?

Not to mention the lack of any mentioning to his racism towards Jack Johnson. This article reeks of white pride, tbqh... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1001:B02B:29D8:21C0:D7ED:A0D5:D0BC (talk) 20:20, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I swear I came across this article and it reads like a white nationalist manifesto. The language, the lack of citations on so many paragraphs, the narrative. I wish someone who is more familiar with the history of this period in boxing would take a look at this. --Crazyketchupguy (talk) 16:54, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Whats the name of his bio?

[edit]

There is mention of a biography but no name 72.87.238.18 06:15, 16 April 2007 (UTC) most of the info on here seems right..but it isnt writen to great....oh well... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.255.7.143 (talk) 04:56, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ZERO mention of how racist James Jeffries was. How typical. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.216.111.130 (talk) 19:37, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, this is quite a flawed article - Jeffries refused to fight Johnson for years because he was black. Also, it makes out Jeffries was in bad shape for the fight - he'd been training for almost a year for it, and was no where near 300lbs when he fought. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.31.194.64 (talk) 14:39, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup Needed

[edit]

I'm not really an expert on boxing, but it's very obvious that this article's in dire need of cleanup. Irrelevant tangents, skewed narratives, grammar errors--it's a mess. 69.119.69.199 (talk) 15:35, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
