Hello @Hawkeye7:! Well done on this well-written article. It pretty much meets all the criteria. I have a couple of minor comments listed below, and it would be better if there were at least one more image, but aside from that it's ready to be promoted to GA.

The article would benefit from more material on Rainwater's personal life, but perhaps not in a section titled "Manhattan project"

What did Rainwater die of?

He's listed as a member of the Optical Society, but this is not mentioned in the article
