Controversy[edit]

I can't see how the Private Members Bill section is NOT controversial within James's constituency. Not for the fact it is about the EU, but for the fact he chose a national, rather than local issue. The section is referenced, and yet keeps being moved by anonymous IP addresses. Can I suggest we leave it where it is, and registered users discuss here if it should be moved elsewhere. Andrew (talk) 16:20, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The anonymous edits are getting annoying, yes. I've given it a thorough clean up, I hope. I think wherever we put the PMB, the explanation and criticism should come together (i.e. the latter immediately after), since having the explanation in the career section and the criticism in a controversies section makes the issue difficult to follow. A casual reader might also accidentally think that they relate to two different issues. Also, as I've said in my edit label, the controversies section was getting far too large, soon to overtake the career section. This is misleading as it suggests that James is a highly controversial MP, which, especially since he has only been in office for 3 years, isn't accurate. Thanks for your hard work here, Andrew. I agree with BlackHairDurham (talk) edits. The controversy section was too large. A general clean up and removal of biased language and half-stories (especially surrounding Sri Lanka) was necessary. Scouserjack (talk) 00:32, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
