Is His Group for "white" arabs Only?[edit]

I know Lebanese are a great deal European mixed as opposed to the concept of arab, but how come Lebanese-Americans tend to 'blend into' and live as whites and even downplay and arabness? I ask while almost knowing the answer and because many Lebanese-Americans do their best to blend into the US as white Americans and put anything Arabic under the rug. Kind of like the Maloof family or prcatically any Lebanese-American. For them to do such a thing would impy to me that they do not see htemselves as arabs, but as whites. They would also have a point.

Even the Arab-American League (James Zogby) refused to address this, but on their site you can get an idea of where they stand - whihc is with a concept of their being white. They only seem to deal with Arab-Americans who are closer to the European in appearance. It is almost like a white supremacy group within a non-white group. Even Zogby himself is a prime example of trying to 'blend into' white American society. His name is spelled in a way to suggest some type of Eastern European and not Arabic. I know that whites were captured as slaves in the Arabic empires, so maybe they are ashamed, but it appears as if his group only exsists to support 'white' arabs and to show white America how white arabs are and should be accepted as such. Just read this [1] and you will get a better idea of the thinking of this so-called arab group. Please see my response here. Also, what makes you think that Zogby is spelled as a Eastern European name? As a native English speaker, I don't get this implication at all. The only thing I notice about his name is that it would usually be spelled Zoghby, but as English doesn't have a Ghayn, it would appear his family got tired of people not being able to read their name. I can agree with you on the religion part, but there are also a great many Spanish-speaking and African-American Christians, but I cannot ever recall a Lebanese marrying one of them, unless they were in Latin America of course. Also, there are also non-Lebanese Arabic peoples who are not of a white appearance, but I still don't see them associating with these groups either. James Zogby's site explains it all. Just look at the list of 'famous arab-Americans.' How come they are either mainly white looking or white's who do not identify, recognize or view themselves as Lebanese or Arabic? It is more than clear what type of arab Zogby represents. Now if his organization were called the "White Arab-American Institute," then I could go along with hime sense he would be truthful, but all arabs are clearly not represented. It almost seems as if he wants America to view arabs as white and therefore only acknowledges white or whiter looking arabs. Maybe that is his hidden agenda. How come there is no reference made to the ongoing court case against the US State Department employee Patrick Syring who allegedly sent offensive, insulting, racial slur type emails and telephone calls to James Zogby and other coemployees? WHY has the fact that Zogby is Catholic not included in the wiki text...anywhere? I would infer that they were both born, that they each would've been born in a year, that they each would have "grew-up", that they are each Utican. Would that be correct inference?

Criticism[edit]

In the Middle East Quarterly, Yehudit Barsky, Director of Middle East and International Terrorism at the American Jewish Committee, [2] wrote that Zogby had attacked the State of Israel and defensed Islamists and terrorists. [3] Separately, the Anti-Defamation League criticized Zogby's support for anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions.[4] In February 2016, Noah Pollak, Executive Director of the Emergency Committee for Israel, named Zogby a leading anti-Israel apologist for terrorism. Pollak and other conservative advocates criticized U.S. Democratic Party presidential candidate Bernie Sanders for consulting Zogby on Middle East policy. [5]
