Vandalism

[edit]

This page is getting quite a bit of vandalism from certain IPs. Please keep an eye out for extreme POV (such as 'the enemy who are a bunch of bigots' and the like). Blowski 13:44, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On the subject of vandalism, I removed an edit suggesting that the Vennegoor and Hesselink families were involved in smuggling arms to Ireland. Whilst it might be true, there's nothing to back it up and the additional comment about van Hooijdonk trying the same thing made it look very fishy. My apologies if the families were really 17th century arms smugglers and opponents of William of Orange. Drfoop (talk) 12:26, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of 'prolific'

[edit]

"He was a prolific goalscorer for FC Twente where he scored 59 league goals in five seasons". Sorry if I'm pedantic, but is 12 goals a season prolific? Henry scored 130 league goals between 2001/2 and 2005/6, which to me is prolific.

- I reworded it to avoid any description of his scoring rate - nodrog, 13 Sept 2006

Why so few games

[edit]

With such a high strike-rate, why's he played so infrequently for Celtic? --Dweller 12:45, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two hamstring injuries since his arrival has curtailed his appearances. Rockpocket 18:20, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

Why is the pronunciation of his name Yan Fenni-gore off Hessylink. You can't really define the way it sounds with English letters. A "v" in Dutch is a combination of "v" and "f", not just an F. And the "of" would be more like "uf", and its hess-e-link. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.112.112.136 (talk) 23:46, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I figured he'd be with Hull City there, but he's missing. Curious if this meant anything. Doc Quintana (talk) 17:24, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Int'l

[edit]

Removed the words "he missed the 2002 FIFA World CUP". Netherlands didn't qualify for '02 so pointing out he missed it when he couldn't have possibly been there isn't logical. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.150.172.40 (talk) 23:21, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
