Swearing in Date Wrong[edit]

Hahn did not assume office July 12, 2011. She didn't even win her election until the following day. She was sworn in on July 19, 2011. Confirmed here — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.208.216.132 (talk) 05:23, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Material with no citations moved from article[edit]

It will probably be easier to write a new section about Hahn's tenure on the city council than it would be to find citations for all of this. --KeptSouth (talk) 09:34, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

==As City Councilwoman== Hahn has focused on gang-prevention programs. She was instrumental[clarification needed] in initiating the Watts Gang Task Force, which has, with some success[clarification needed], sought to reduce homicide rates in the Watts community. She also implemented the Gang Alternatives Program[clarification needed] throughout her fifteenth district[citation needed]. Citywide, she supported Proposition A, which would have increased the annual parcel tax to create a permanent revenue source for gang prevention and intervention programs. The measure fell short of the two-thirds required majority vote[citation needed].

Hahn has also worked to improve operations at the Port of Los Angeles and clean up[clarification needed] surrounding port communities[citation needed]. She oversees the redevelopment projects in San Pedro and Wilmington which are dedicated to transforming the waterway. Working with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, she secured passage of the historic Clean Air Action Plan which provides for removing dirty trucks from the ports and replacing them with fuel efficient trucks from Arizona and seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions[citation needed]. Through her position on the Council, Hahn has supported increased benefits for nurses, court interpreters, port workers, and other constituencies throughout the city[citation needed]. Hahn has pushed for higher mandatory wages to workers at the hotels along the Century Boulevard corridor bordering Los Angeles International Airport[citation needed]. She has been particularly concerned that hotel workers not be deprived of tips, health insurance, and other job enhancements[citation needed].

Yeah, some P.R. person just jammed it in. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 22:07, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Allegations of Favoritism Glossed Over or Omitted[edit]

During the election campaign, her opponent(s) dug up some dirt that has been glossed over. The Gang Task Force was made up largely of current gang members who naturally got arrested for things. They were often able to game the system by saying they worked for Council Member Hahn's Gang Task Force. Per the allegations, phone calls were made, charges were dropped Hahn's office acknowledged the charges and denied involvement. All accusations that taint a public person, whether deserved or not, become a part of the record.

There's no mention of any of this. Imagine a George W. Bush page that doesn't address allegations of substance abuse. JM in San Diego CA (talk) 00:30, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I want to add a new fact, not a new section, but I do not see any way to do that.

Per Janice herself (at her Congress on Your Corner event in south San Pedro), her Congressional District has changed. It used to be from the north end of San Pedro, down to about 25th Street.......with the rest of us San Pedrans south of that included in Congressman Dana Rohrbach's district (which I did not like because I do not agree with him AT ALL!!!).

Everyone is confused, thinking that this June's election is voting to approve the changing of Janice's district to INCLUDE ALL of San Pedro -- as new District #44. Well, per Janice herself, the new Congressional District #44 is ALREADY set (unless someone files a lawsuit)....and what we will be voting on in June is to RE-ELECT Janice as our Congresswoman for the already established Distrist #44 (which is ALL of San Pedro under Janice's representation in Congress). — Preceding unsigned comment added by PedroPointGirl (talkcontribs) 06:04, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
