Shoshone Reference
[edit]The statement of "The name "Jarbidge" originates from the Shoshone word "Jahabich," which means "devil" - the Shoshone name for the nearby mountains" is completely wrong as far as the shoshone. The shoshone called the area of the jarbidge mountains Toyatepia, and the devil is Kwasi appe or Saampunku. Newe Hupia, By Beverly Crum, Earl Crum, Jon P. Dayley The Jahabich might be a Nez perce word, but I don't have any definate reference. Naninnewetuah (talk) 5:08, 01 May 2014
