Software Updates?
[edit]I am the author of the Jarte word processor and I want to ask about making the following changes to the Jarte article:
- Update the screen shot (Jarte looks very different as of version 3.0). - Add the word "portable" to the description since it is a key attribute. - Change the word "overwhelming" to "cumbersome" since that is a more accurate statement as to the progrma's original intent. - Change the word "basic" to "standard"
If there is any objection to these changes please say so since I want to follow Wikipedia's rules. If a knowledgable Jarte user would like to write a more complete article for Jarte that would be great. Or, if I am allowed to write a more complete article and have someone else judge its objectivity that would be great too. Zoomshift (talk) 17:38, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- This is not a promotional site for specific things. Read the policies. --MisterWiki talk contribs 19:51, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- Zoomshift, there is no reason why any of your modest changes would present a problem. In fact, I see them as improvements. The key here is to be objective, —NOT who YOU are. Sidenote: this article could gain status with more referenced sources, (such as software reviews). Loosely; you can put any info here from any good source that you reference. Suggest multiple sources such as perhaps Cnet, Softpedia, magazines, and MajorGeeks, etc....
Also this article borders on being a stub. Suggest looking at the Wordpad article for inspiration.

Appears to be dead.
[edit]The program looks to have been abandoned around 2018/2019. The support page says there will be no further updates or support. The main site for Carolina Road Software only lists their jigsaw puzzle site and the WHOIS for jarte.com has been obfuscated through some Panama-based company. However, since there doesn't seem to be any external source since the MakeUseOf article in 2014, I can't see any way this could be noted in the article? Not without violating WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH, anyway... Wodgester (talk) 10:50, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- I contacted the company via the support email for their jigsaw site and received the following reply:
Hi (name redacted), Yes, Jarte/Jarte Plus v6.2 is the final version of the program. Bob Flora, Jigsaw Explorer
- So that would appear to be the end of it. Wodgester (talk) 13:45, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
