- Lead
- "It was written by Beyoncé, Detail, Andre Eric Proctor, Brian Soko, Rasool Diaz, and Boots while its production was handled by the former two" → "The song was written by Beyoncé, Detail, Andre Eric Proctor, Brian Soko, and its producers Rasool Diaz and Boots" Done
- Unlink "Love interest" Done
- "in search for her male love interest"..... this can be simplified to "him" Done
- "The video received mostly positive reviews by critics who generally praised the character she portrayed in the video"..... a bit lengthy, try "The video and her character received generally positive reviews from critics" Done
- Background
- "'Jealous' was written by Beyoncé, Detail, Boots, Andre Eric Proctor, Brian Soko, and Rasool Diaz, while the team of the first two people handled its production along with additional contribution by Boots, Hit-Boy, Hazebanga, and Proctor"..... reads very awkwardly Done Rearranged
- Better now Snuggums (talk / edits) 23:46, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- "'Jealous' was recorded at two studios with guidance from Stuart White — Jungle City Studios and Oven Studios, both located in New York City"..... too lengthy, try was recorded in New York City at Jungle City Studios and Oven Studios Done
- prevent the image from overlapping into the next section by either manually decreasing its size or by placing this at the end of the section:
{{-}} Done
- Composition
- ref#5 (Fuse) has "Joe Lynch" listed as author, but this should be removed since the ref itself says "Fuse Staff" Done
- "Billboard's writers" → "Billboard writers" Done
- Let's give detail on how Billboard found this track similar to works by Lana Del Ray, Jeff Bhasker, and Emile Haynie Done
- Remove "magazine" from "Chris Kelly of Fact magazine" Done
- See note above in lead regarding "love interest" Done
- "As she questions the loyalty of her male love interest, presumably he is out with another woman, cheating her"..... too long, try "She questions his loyalty, and he is believed to be cheating on her with another woman" Done
- "Claire Lobendfeld of Complex interpreted the song as being about combating with one's own jealousy"..... simplify this to something like she felt the song was about jealousy Not done I reworded it but check if you like the new sentence
- Works for me Snuggums (talk / edits) 23:46, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- "The singer continues singing lines about 'nonsensical pain and baseless jealousy' as stated by Kevin Fallon from The Daily Beast and realizes her partner will not come"...... too much detail, go with something along the lines of "The singer continues singing about jealousy and realizes her partner will not come" Done
- ref#26 should be outside of both parentheses Done
- Critical reception
- What makes "405" (ref#28) a high-quality source? Not done - Not removed. It is used by Metacritic.
- Just checking Snuggums (talk / edits) 23:46, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- New York Post (ref#36) is not a reliable source Done - Removed
- "Jody Rosen in a review for the blog Vulture" → "Jody Rosen of Vulture" Done
- The review from The Atlantic doesn't need its own subsection Done
- "During a separate, in-depth review of the song published on The Atlantic"..... not needed, just give the author and publication Done
- Per WP:OVERCITE, a ref doesn't need to be used more than once in a row within a paragraph, so just use ref#24 (The Atlantic) at the end of Nolan Feeney's review Done
- Music Video
-
- Background and release
- ref#40 (E!) doesn't explicitly mention this song or its video at all, though these links could be used to replace it - Not done Actually none of those sources talk about the image. However, the E! ref can be used as it discusses Beyonce's look found in the video (although the song's name was not known at that time).
- I see, thanks for clarifying Snuggums (talk / edits) 23:46, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- "During an interview with MTV News, Carozzini elaborated" → "Carozzini told MTV News" Done
- ref#40 (MTV News) only needs to be used at the end of Carozzini's quote per WP:OVERCITE Done
- Synopsis
- ref#45 (Los Angeles Times) does not say anything about Beyoncé with a red coat. However, citations are not required for plot sections of videos to begin with, so I'd remove the refs in the section except for the ones saying this video is a "sequel" to "Partition" video. Come to think of it, I have no objections to removing the "sequel" bit to begin with if desired. Not done - The Los Angeles Times source was used to support the fact that she "goes outside to look for her man". And sources don't need to be used, but I would prefer to keep them.
- Understood Snuggums (talk / edits) 23:46, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Reception and analysis
- "A writer of the website Fuse praised" → "Fuse praised Not done - The review must be written by a writer.
- I was mainly opting for Fuse to be linked, which you've done Snuggums (talk / edits) 23:46, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- See above note regarding ref#36 (New York Post) Done - Removed
