Not first Independent Suspension on Jeeps

[edit]

The first Independent suspension on a Jeep was an Italian design used on Kaiser Built Jeep trucks in the early sixties. Being 4wd independent it was complex and easily damaged, and difficult to adjust and repair. It was dropped after two years or so.

I just purchased a 2003 Jeep Liberty the Freedom Edition. I love it. It handles really well. It turns really well. I can park it anywhere. I also love the two toned interior. It's the perfect size inside and it has just enough storage in the back.

Special CRD section?

[edit]

I would like to insert a special section dealing with the CRD. Any thoughts? Huxrules 00:11, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please add it in. Should enlighten interested readers.

CRD Weight Inaccuacies

[edit]

The information regarding a CRD engine adding half a ton of weight (1000 lbs) is simply wrong. While a base 2WD 4-cylinder model with a manual transmission weighs about 650 lbs less than the 4WD automatic diesel, most of this difference is the 4WD and the transmission. A 4WD auto diesel liberty is less than 200 lbs heavier than a 6-cylinder 4WD Gas equipped one.

This info is gathered from here. A better source may be needed, but the info meshes with comments made by professional reviews of the liberty in regards to weight vs competition.

In addition GROSS weight refers to the maximum loaded vehicle weight (passengers and cargo). A higher gross weight indicates a higher load capacity.

Split into Euro and US section, and Put back the 45RFE and 545RFE in the article!!!

[edit]

First off somone has removed the auto trannys that where quite common in the American Version of this automobile. Mainly the 45RFE and the CRD's 545RFE. Please someone put them back! If I knew how to edit the margins, I would do it myself. I believe it was a mistake to remove them.

Second, Perhaps to clarify some of confusion with all this, the Jeep Liberty page could be split into sections, an American Section for the liberty (where different) and a Euro Section for the Cherokee (where different). Indicating the various configurations of the US vs Euro Models. —Preceding unsigned comment added by O8k (talkcontribs) 09:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2013 Jeep Liberty (KK)

[edit]

I discovered that there is a 2013 Liberty (KK) being sold in Mexico. Here's a link http://www.jeep.com.mx/autos-nuevos/liberty-2013/VX1NG (talk) 19:11, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate article. poorly fact checked

[edit]

This article is wildly inaccurate. Many if not all of the pictures are actually of a Jeep patriot and The article cites numerous times the patriot is smaller than the liberty which is not the case. This article also states the Liberty is a cherokee. Its not. The cherokee is alive and well. The Liberty is not being discontinued or only produced for Mexican consumers as the article wrongly states. The liberty is being offered on the Crystler/Jeep website for 2013 and 2014 at the time I write this 2/24/2013 (in may colors with all kinds of options). There are a thousand tiny details that are simply wrong in this. It needs to just be rewritten from scratch.76.22.30.181 (talk) 01:26, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
