Motto and School Colors[edit]

I cleaned up the page a little. Isolating the controversy section and adding a more informative info box. Can someone confirm the info? Colors and motto specifically... --travisthurston + 06:10, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Christensen Program[edit]

I propose we include a section on The Christensen Program, as I recall reading a number of articles on it in the Oregon Herald and the Portland Tribune. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tonyregalliao55 (talkcontribs) 04:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

North vs. Northeast?[edit]

Jefferson is located in Northeast Portland. It does not cross I-5 which is the boundary between North and Northeast Portland. --PdxCobra (talk) 19:34, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it's pretty apparent you don't know the boundaries. Consult some sources before relying on assumptions. --travisthurston+ 08:02, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jefferson High School (5210 N. Kerby Ave., Portland, Oregon 97217) is located in North Portland. The north/northeast boundary is Williams Avenue, not I-5. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.175.66.121 (talk) 21:11, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

I have added a history section and a tag requesting more info on the history of Jefferson High. If you have time and know of any resources, list them here and I'll reword it and add it into the article. --Travis Thurston+ 21:18, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

13% white: year for statistic?[edit]

Also what year was the percentage the least, when most, etc. would be interesting information to have. 4.255.48.125 (talk) 00:50, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reclassify and rate[edit]

I reclassified this as "start" for wpschools to match wporegon. Also, I rerated it as "mid" for both projects due to the Jefferson Dancers and history in Oregon. tedder (talk) 06:01, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notable alumni and wikilinks[edit]

Tedder, I see you reverted my de-linking of teams etc. in the notable alumni section. A long time ago, I read in something about disambiguation pages that, to my way of thinking, should also apply to "see also" sections and sections like this one, "notable alumni." The idea, in essence, is that each line should have simply a link to the article it refers to; any text that follows is merely for context. If the reader wants more context, they will click on the primary link, and learn about the rest from the links on THAT page. So basically, you reduce link clutter by focusing the reader's attention on the link that's most likely to give them what they want.

I am having trouble finding the guideline I saw so long ago, but the lead section of Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) alludes to the idea. -Pete (talk) 21:43, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think an Entire relevant section is missing from this document. Although it does mention the dance program and "The Jefferson Dancers" It fails to mention other programs such as Drama and Television. It was a performing arts high school, not just a Dance High school In the late 70 and early 80s it became a model program for television production. Many alumni from those years went on to have life - long careers in television and some quite notable making significant contributions both locally and Internationally. Those people also should be mentioned in the Alumni section. Markosjal (talk) 15:12, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
